Food

A boy serving a mealThe food that we provide at Early Years Childcare is nutritious and well balanced. We ensure it is low in sugar and contains natural ingredients wherever possible. Food is seasoned with herbs and other ingredients, as salt is not added to our food. After meals we always ensure that the children brush their teeth.

At meal times, our children are encouraged to serve themselves, and by doing so they develop important skills and hand to eye co-ordination.

An Example Daily Menu:

Breakfast Choice of cereals and milk or toast

Morning Snack Vegetable Sticks

Lunch Vegetarian Chilli with red kidney beans and wholegrain brown rice

High Tea Jacket potato skins with cheese & spring onion

Afternoon Snack Fresh or dried fruit

Water and milk are provided during the day.

We are very excited at EYC this year, as we are celebrating our 20th Birthday. We have plenty of events planned over this period including our recent Company Awards, where the Mayor of Brighton and Hove attended. We will also be sponsoring the ‘Brighton Lions’ annual Firework display and will be a headline sponsor at the Brighton Baby Expo 2010!

Our first nursery on Dyke Road Avenue in Brighton & Hove was opened on 6th November 1989, and with the success of our first nursery, we have opened more nurseries over the years. We now have nursery settings throughout the South East of England, including seven in Sussex, making us one of the South East’s leading day nursery providers.

We provide high standards of care in a happy and secure environment, which has been recognised over the years with many national and regional accolades, for our approach to Healthy eating, our staff and our nursery settings.
