Children at Worthing nursery were lucky enough to get a visit from local author Jill Atkins on Tuesday 8th December.

Jill, who has written a number of children’s stories and educational books, sat with children and read some of her books and even sang songs. The groups of children were particularly drawn by her book ‘The Fantastic Pumpkin’ which was “the biggest story book they had ever seen”.

In recent weeks EYC has launched into one of its latest business objectives, and the company is keen to review and enhance the learning and development of children’s literacy, language and communication skills. As part of the project, EYC will be exploring new and exciting ways of approaching literacy in their settings, giving the children the best possible start for when they reach Primary school.
