Haywards Heath nursery is commended for its outdoor activity!
Wednesday 10 February 2010
Our Haywards Heath nursery in Southdowns Park has been named runner up in the Nursery World Outdoor Challenge 2009, in association with Learning Through Landscapes.
The setting was given the good news on 9th February that they were runner up in the competition, which aims to promote high-quality outdoor play for all children, and rewards childcare settings who show the greatest commitment to this outcome.
As part of the judging process each setting is also evaluated on their ongoing commitment to broadening and improving the learning opportunities the children have outdoors, as well as how they make the outdoors accessible to all children.
Early Years Childcare’s Quality & Development Project Manager, Beryl Carroll said “Our outdoor environments are just as important as our indoor ones, and we continually look at ways we can improve our gardens/outdoor areas for the children. This result shows that our hard work is paying off.”
